Performing Arts Auditorium

Performing Arts Auditorium

The Project represents the design of a 1,515 sq.m facility for the performing arts to be located on the Campus of the University of Technology Jamaica.

It is to take the form of a building accommodating the present administrative functions of the Centre for the Arts, in addition to the creation of spaces for Performances, Workshops and Conferences.

The structure is to be of a relatively modest scale with a degree of flexibility for activities relating to the performing arts. As such, it will comprise a self-contained main “Auditorium” space with the required acoustical conditions, as well as adjacent multi-purpose rooms. The intention is for all these spaces to open up into each other to create one performance area. Total seating is to be 850 persons.
